The announcement was made by Governor Ned Lamont; Connecticut Airport Authority Executive Director Kevin Dillon; and Breeze Airways Founder and CEO David Neeleman.

The plan calls for the creation of more than 200 new Connecticut jobs, permanent aircraft, and adding eight new nonstop destinations, bringing to twelve the number of cities Breeze will serve from the airport.

«Over the past several years, Bradley has earned a national reputation as one of the best operated and most convenient airports in the country, and airlines are taking note as they increase their service and add more routes from Connecticut’s largest airport,» said Governor Lamont.

When Breeze first took off on May 27, 2021, Bradley was one of three destinations the airline served from day one. It currently has flights to Charleston, South Carolina; Columbus, Ohio; Norfolk, Virginia; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

«As a longtime Connecticut resident, it is personally very exciting for me to announce today with Governor Lamont that Hartford Bradley International Airport will become Breeze’s fifth home base,» Neeleman said.

He said he plans to announce the new destinations in the coming weeks. It will also expand its flights to existing routes.

The airline currently has bases in Tampa (TPA), Florida; New Orleans (MSY), Louisiana; Charleston (CHS), South Carolina; and Norfolk (ORF), Virginia. It serves 18 East Coast and Midwest cities on more than 30 routes, with West Palm Beach as its newest destination.

It has a fleet of ten Embraer 190s and three E195s and plans to add more than 30 additional Embraer aircraft until its Airbus A220-300s enter service.
