Hawaiian Airlines to offer in-flight internet for free

Hawaiian Airlines announced an agreement with Starlink to provide free low-latency, high-speed broadband Internet access to all travelers onboard flights between Hawaii and the continental United States, Asia and Oceania.

It is Starlink’s second agreement with a U.S. airline after JSX Airline, while Delta Air Lines is negotiating to implement the same system for its aircraft.

Hawaii’s largest airline will equip its Airbus A330 and A321neo, as well as its incoming fleet of Boeing 787-9s, with Starlink’s satellite Internet connectivity service.

The company does not plan to deploy the service on its Boeing 717 aircraft operating intra-island routes in Hawaii.

Hawaiian and Starlink are in the initial stages of implementation and expect to begin installing the product on select aircraft in 2023.
