From the agreement, the three companies will work on the developing of e-commerce freight forwarding routes between China and the United States. In addition, they will expand the distribution services network in the Americas.

In the last two years, FreightCloud contracted more than 3.000 flights between the Asian country, the United States and Europe. The operations moved more than 150.000 tons of cargo, according to the company.

Now, through the new partnership, it will seek to increase connectivity in the cargo market between Asia and the Americas. To this end, it will use GlobalX’s Airbus A321Fs to distribute cargo throughout the Americas. Operations, which will be conducted from hubs in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, are expected to start during the first quarter of 2023.

In addition, the document provides for GlobalX to use its own Airbus A330Fs to conduct the operations from China, on behalf of FreightCloud. As planned, operations would begin in late 2023.

Ed Wegel, Chair and CEO of GlobalX, said the alliance will allow them to «participate in the lucrative Asia to US cargo market». «We are also delighted to team with Hudson Highland Partners, who will provide financing for this partnership», he added.

For his part, Robin Fu, CEO of FreightCloud, noted that the initiative «helps to increase cargo volumes, and strengthen and expand relationships with existing and new customers».
