    As of July 11, Rutaca Airlines inaugurates a new non-stop service between Maracaibo (MAR) and Santo Domingo (SDQ) with three weekly flights. This will be the company’s second destination in the Dominican Republic, in addition to its operation in Punta Cana (PUJ).

    According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Dominican Republic aviation authority (JAC), for the 2022 quarter the airline based in Ciudad Bolivar has mobilized between Venezuela and the Caribbean country 3,540 passengers, representing an increase of more than 380% over the same period of 2021.

    Flight itinerary

    Maracaibo (MAR) – Santo Domingo (SDQ)

    Flight RUC 1300 MAR 09:15 – SDQ 10:45 Monday and Wednesday.
    Flight RUC 1300 MAR 11:00 – SDQ 12:20 Friday.

    Santo Domingo (SDQ) – Maracaibo (MAR)

    Flight RUC 1301 SDQ 13:35 – MAR 15:05 monday and wednesday.
    Flight RUC 1301 SDQ 14:50 – MAR 16:10 Friday.

    Flights will be operated by Boeing 737-300 aircraft and promotional fares are from USD 450 round trip, these services have onward connections to other cities from Las Americas International Airport (SDQ). The airline also offers non-stop operations between Caracas (CCS) and Punta Cana (PUJ).

    Rutaca Airlines offers seven domestic destinations including: Puerto Ordaz (PZO), Ciudad Bolivar (CBL), Santo Domingo del Tachira (STD), Caracas (CCS), Barcelona (BLA), Maracaibo (MAR) and Porlamar (PMV).

    Dominican Republic is one of the main destinations for most travelers coming from Venezuela to make connections to North America and Europe, according to data obtained by the JAC in 2021 between both nations 125,881 passengers were mobilized, also Maracaibo (MAR) was the ninth most popular connection to Santo Domingo (SDQ) from South America where 2,149 passengers were mobilized.

    Starting in July, Las Americas Airport (SDQ) will have six non-stop connections to Venezuela including: Caracas (CCS), Valencia (VLN), Maracaibo (MAR), Barquisimeto (BRM), Barcelona (BLA) and Porlamar (PMV), is the most connected South American country to the Dominican capital.
