Fiji Airways announces flights to Canada

Fiji Airways resumes operations to Canada after 14 years with a non-stop service between Nadi (NAN) and Vancouver (YVR) with twice weekly flights starting November 25, 2022, the airline’s 20th international destination. This new route has been successfully introduced due to increased travel demand since they opened the borders in Fiji in December 2021.

Canada represents a new market with immense potential for tourism, trade and, of course, reconnecting Fijian families,» said Andre Viljoen, CEO of Fiji Airways.

«The Fijian diaspora in Canada numbers approximately 80,000 people who have not been able to see their loved ones for two years and are anxious to fly home. Fiji Airways now provides them with a more convenient means to do just that,» Viljoen added.

A trade delegation from the airline will conduct a special flight on August 9 to interact with industry experts and partners in Canada, which is available for purchase for USD 495 and will be operated on Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

In November 2008, Fiji Airways cancelled its operations to Canada, previously the company offered flights to Vancouver (YVR) via Honolulu (HNL) operated by a Boeing 737-800 with a capacity of 180 passengers.

With this new nonstop connection, Canadian passengers will have the option of connecting to Australia and New Zealand via Nadi (NAN). Fiji Airways also offers flights to Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO), with the addition of Vancouver (YVR) the company will have three destinations in North America.

Flight Itinerary

• Nadi – Vancouver Flight FJ 880 NAN 22:15 – YVR 13:20 Monday and Friday.
• Vancouver – Nadi Flight FJ 881 YVR 21:40 – NAN 05:30+2 Monday and Friday.

The flights will be operated in Airbus A330-200 aircraft with a capacity of 273 seats in two classes (24 Business Class/249 Economy), tickets are already available from the company’s website and its regular channels, promotional fares are from 459 USD.
