    United continues to strengthen its offer in the South Pacific: from December 14, 2022, until February 8, 2023, will increase from 7 to 10 weekly flights its nonstop services between San Francisco (SFO) and Sydney (SYD).

    According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, the airline will offer 7,000 weekly seats on this route, representing an increase of 42.9% compared to pre-pandemic levels. For this austral summer season, United will be the largest carrier in the South Pacific.

    The route between San Francisco (SFO) and Sydney (SYD) is one of the company’s main transpacific routes over the years; during the initial stages of COVID-19 outbreak, it was one of the few services that did not cease operations.

    San Francisco (SFO) – Sydney (SYD)
    • Flight UA 863 SFO 22:55 – SYD 08:00+2 daily flights.
    • Flight UA 829 SFO 20:15 – SYD 06:35+2 Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
    Sydney (SYD) – San Francisco (SFO)
    • Flight UA 870 SYD 11:20 – SFO 07:05 daily flights.
    • Flight UA 830 SYD 12:10 – SFO 07:00 Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

    All services will be operated on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with a capacity of 350 seats in four classes (60 Polaris Business Class/24 Premium Plus/62 Economy Plus/204 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 2,600 round trip.

    According to data compiled by Aviacionline through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development 394,945 passengers and 6,792.5 tons of cargo were moved between June 2018 – 2019 on the Sydney (SYD) – San Francisco (SFO) route. This was the fourth busiest non-stop service between Australia and the United States.

    The carrier will have a 29,368-seat weekly offering between the U.S. and the South Pacific via five destinations:

    Houston – Intercontinental (IAH)
    • Sydney (SYD): daily Boeing 787-9 flights.
    Los Angeles (LAX)
    • Sydney (SYD): daily flights on Boeing 787-9.
    • Melbourne (MEL): daily flights on Boeing 787-9.
    San Francisco (SFO)
    • Sydney (SYD): 10 weekly flights on Boeing 777-300ER.
    • Melbourne (MEL): daily flights on Boeing 787-9.
    • Brisbane (BNE): three weekly flights on Boeing 787-9.
    • Auckland (AKL): daily flights on Boeing 777-200ER.
    • Papeete, Tahiti (PPT): five weekly flights on Boeing 787-9.
