In the application, the company requests seven weekly flights operated by Airbus A319/A320/A320neo aircraft.

If this new service materializes, it would be the only non-stop service between Palmerola International Airport (XPL) and South America, offering high connectivity to the Honduran capital through Avianca’s main hub at El Dorado Airport (BOG), where passengers will have options to make connections to North America, Europe, the Caribbean, and the rest of South America.

Palmerola Airport (XPL) continues to expand its international offer with the addition of Spirit’s night flight to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Iberojet’s unprecedented service to Madrid (MAD). The latter will be the first non-stop connection between Tegucigalpa and Europe.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, Avianca Group in December will offer 17,844 weekly seats between Central America and Colombia through four destinations. It is the second largest airline operator in this market in terms of seats per kilometers offered (ASK).
