On December 19, Condor took delivery of its first Airbus A330neo equipped with Rolls Royce engines, allowing the use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). The introduction of this new aircraft is part of the company’s intercontinental fleet renewal to replace its aging Boeing 767-300ERs.

The original schedule for the aircraft had to be changed earlier in the week due to repairs following damage to the right wing. With the completion of the wingtip work and after extensive testing and measurements, the company was now able to accept delivery of the unit.

The airline’s first A330neo is registered with the registration «D-ANRA» and livery «Island». The delivery flight took off from Toulouse Airport (TLS) at 20:14 local time and landed at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) at 21:41, after one hour and 26 minutes.

«Today is an important day for Condor and its future. The arrival of our first A330neo in Frankfurt marks the beginning of a new era for Condor,» said Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor.

«The aircraft’s fuel consumption of 2 liters is well below the industry average and reduces CO2 emissions by 20 percent on the same routes. This, together with state-of-the-art technologies and the highest level of comfort, paves the way to the future and to one of the most environmentally friendly fleets in Europe,» added Teckentrup.

The company expects to take delivery of 18 Airbus A330-900neo aircraft by 2024. The second «D-ANRN» aircraft with livery «Beach» is in preparations for delivery to the company.

The first service of Condor’s A330neo is scheduled for December 27 on a route between Frankfurt (FRA) and Mauritius (MRU). According to data obtained by Cirium, the German leisure airline will also fly the new aircraft to Punta Cana (PUJ), Maldives (MLE), Seattle – Tacoma (SEA) and Varadero (VRA).

Condor’s Airbus A330-900neo aircraft seat 310 passengers in three classes (30 Business Class/64 Premium Economy/216 Economy).
