In recent days, Gol Linhas Aéreas has modified its destination network, revealing the end of its partnership with VoePass, which allowed it to reach several small cities in Brazil.

The Brazilian airline had bought MAP and Voepass in 2021 with the aim of adding new routes where demand was insufficient to operate its Boeing 737, unlike the ATR 42 and 72 of those regional airlines.

As reported by our Brazilian media partner, Aeroin, GOL will temporarily suspend several destinations from May 9:

    • From São Paulo/Congonhas (CGH):
      • Araguaíana (AUX), in Tocantins.
      • Teixeira de Freitas (TXF), Bahia.
      • Santa Maria (RIA), Rio Grande do Sul.
      • Uberaba (UBA), Minas Gerais.
      • Uruguaiana (URG), Rio Grande do Sul.
    • From Brasilia (BSB):
      • Barreiras (BRA), in Bahia.
    • From Salvador da Bahía (SSA):
      • Lençóis/Chapada Diamantina (LEC), Bahia.
      • Paulo Afonso (PAV), Bahia.
      • Teixeira de Freitas (TXF), Bahia.

The company qualified these bases as temporarily affected, but without defining expected dates for the resumption of operations.

The end of the partnership also affects more than 20 routes from Brasilia, Salvador, and São Paulo.

GOL replaces ATR with Boeing 737

In addition to the cessation of operations in the eight cities, other destinations will have their aircraft type modified. GOL will fly with its own Boeing 737 instead of the ATR 72 with the following schedule:

    • From São Paulo/Congonhas (CGH):
      • Araçatuba (ARU); frequency not disclosed.
      • Ribeirão Preto (RAO); with a daily flight on a Boeing 737-800.
      • São José do Rio Preto (SJP); with a daily flight on a Boeing 737-800.
      • Ipatinga/Vale do Aço (IPN); frequency not disclosed.

The modification towards Ribeirão Preto and São José do Rio Preto will take effect starting on May 9th. Meanwhile, flights to Araçatuba and Ipatinga/Vale do Aço are scheduled for July.
