On July 18, China Airlines expands its operations in Europe with the start of non-stop flights between Taipei and Prague. This service is the longest route from the Czech capital’s main airport and the airline’s sixth European destination. In addition, this new connection aims to boost trade and tourism between Taiwan and the Czech Republic.

Flight CI 67 was operated by an Airbus A350 registered as B-18903, which departed Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) at 23:48 local time and arrived at Prague Václav Havel International Airport (PRG) at 06:56 the following day, after 13 hours and 9 minutes.

Before the pandemic, i.e. in 2019 more than 190 thousand passengers from Taiwan visited the Czech Republic. In 2022, there were only 13,791 Taiwanese visitors, which represented a decrease of almost 93%. The new nonstop connection between Prague and Taipei seeks a rapid recovery in traveler traffic between the two regions.

«With this new connection, we will boost inbound tourism as well. In addition, the connection will offer Prague passengers the possibility of convenient transfers to several China Airlines destinations in Asia and the Pacific«, said Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport.
