ITA Airways expands its London operations with a new route to London City

ITA Airways has announced an increase in its flights to London, introducing a new link between Rome/Fiumicino (FCO) and the centrally located London City Airport (LCY) from April 1, 2024.

The airline aims to strengthen its offering for both leisure and business customers between the two capitals. In addition, it will increase its existing route between Milan/Linate and London City from 12 to 31 weekly flights from April 10, 2024.

  • AZ 212 FCO 09:25 – 11:00 LCY / Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
  • AZ 214 FCO 14:35 – 16:10 LCY / Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
• From London City:
  • AZ 211 LCY 08:30 – 12:00 FCO / Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Thursday, Friday.
  • AZ 211 LCY 11:35 – 15:05 FCO / Saturdays.
  • AZ 213 LCY 16:40 – 20:10 FCO / Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

With this announcement, London becomes an important market for ITA Airways, which, together with its current operations to London/Heathrow (LHR), will have up to 64 weekly flights, equivalent to nine daily flights, from Fiumicino and Linate.

The expansion to London City is made possible by the Airbus A220-100, which is certified to operate at the challenging hub airport due to its dimensions, locations, environmental restrictions and noise regulations. ITA Airways is the second airline to operate the A220 at this airport, as it also operates from Geneva and Zurich with Swiss International Air Lines.

ITA has taken delivery of two Airbus A220-100 aircraft configured for 125 passengers and is expected to take delivery of ten additional aircraft.
