The Embraer E190-E2 will serve six cities, including two new routes. Koh Samui, Thailand, and Sibu, Malaysia, are fresh additions to Scoot’s network, while existing connections to Hat Yai and Krabi in Thailand, and Kuantan and Miri in Malaysia, will transition to being served by E-Jets E2.

The first E190-E2 is scheduled to arrive in April 2024, christened as Explorer 3.0. The airline plans to commence operations with the new aircraft on May 7, 2024, serving the routes to Krabi and Hat Yai.

The new service to Koh Samui will launch on May 13, 2024, initially with eleven weekly flights, increasing to twice daily from June onwards. Furthermore, with the introduction of the new Embraer E2 aircraft, Scoot will enhance its presence in Miri and Kuantan, increasing from three to four weekly flights starting May 20 and June 3, respectively.

Service to Sibu will commence from June 5, 2024, with three weekly flights. Overall, the airline will operate 103 weekly flights to Malaysia and 92 to Thailand by June 2024.

The addition of Koh Samui and Sibu expands Scoot’s network to 69 destinations, enhancing the airline’s connectivity and solidifying Singapore as a regional hub.

Leslie Thng, CEO of Scoot, said: «We are thrilled to unveil the first six destinations where our new Embraer E190-E2 aircraft will fly to cities in Malaysia and Thailand, including two new additions to our network. This marks a new chapter of growth for Scoot and the SIA Group, and a significant step in strengthening our presence and connectivity in the region.»

«The expansion of our fleet reflects our confidence that air travel demand will continue to grow in this region. We will continue to seek new opportunities and push boundaries to connect our customers to even more destinations with the same great value in the future,» he added.
