Virgin Atlantic returns to Canada with flights to Toronto and begins partnership with WestJet

After more than a decade, Virgin Atlantic is returning to Canada with nonstop flights from London-Heathrow and Toronto-Pearson. The route will have daily flights and will begin on March 30, 2025, with promotional fares starting at £490 per person.

The route will be operated on a mix of fleet aircraft, including the Airbus A330-900neo, the airline’s newest model. It includes the airline’s Retreat Suite, an onboard social space, wireless charging and stylish design touches.

According to data obtained through UK Aviation Authority statistics, 1,109,113 passengers were flown between London-Heathrow and Toronto-Pearson in 2023, soon Virgin Atlantic will compete in this segment with Air Canada and British Airways.

Virgin Atlantic’s last operation was on October 11, 2014 on a seasonal service between London-Heathrow and Vancouver performed on Airbus A340-300/-600 aircraft.

Partnership with WestJet

For the winter season, WestJet and Virgin Atlantic will have an expanded partnership that will provide customers with one-stop access from Calgary and through Virgin Atlantic’s London-Heathrow hub to new global destinations, including Delhi. Mumbai and Bangalore in India, Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa, Lagos in Nigeria, Dubai and the Maldives.

WestJet Rewards and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club customers will collaborate to gain a reciprocal partnership in frequent flyer programs in 2025, further optimizing the cooperation between the two airlines. In addition, for the first time, WestJet customers will have access to India, Africa and the Middle East through a codeshare marketed by the Canadian airline.
