Wingo is looking to reposition itself into the Colombian domestic market and requested the government the approval to fly six new routes, including three new destinations.
As we previously published, Wingo received its fifth Boeing 737-800 last week, adding new capacity to allow the airline to expand its offer in the domestic market.
The destinations and frequencies that the airline requested are:

| Bogotá – Santa Marta (new) – Bogotá | 7 weekly flights |
| Bogotá – Bucaramanga (new) – Bogotá | 7 weekly flights |
| Bogotá – San Andrés – Bogotá | 7 weekly flights |
| Bogotá – Pasto (new) – Bogotá | 7 weekly flights |
Aerocivil, Colombia’s aviation authority, will issue the authorization in the next few days, since everything indicates that ther will be no objections and the routes will be granted.
Wingo currently has 90% of its capacity in international flights, so this is a good opportunity for the Copa Airlines’ subsidiary to position itself within Colombia at this time when the aviation market has been recovering favorably in the midst of the pandemic.
Its international network reaches Aruba, Cancún (Mexico), Caracas (Venezuela), Panamá, Curaçao, Guayaquil (Ecuador), Havana (Cuba), Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), Quito (Ecuador), San José (Costa Rica) and Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic). In Colombia flights to Barranquilla, Bogota, Cali, Cartagena, Medellin and San Andres.
