Cartagena: LATAM Peru resumes operations and American Airlines adds a second daily flight

Cartagena has been increasing its flight offer as a progressive recovery in the Colombian market progresses, with a greater focus on national connections. The mayor of the city, William Dau, advanced the implementation of a second daily American Airlines flight to Miami starting in April, which is added to the return of the connection to Lima by LATAM.

«Thanks to American Airlines for believing in Cartagena as a tourist destination,» said the mayor via his Instagram account. For the city, the United States represents 90% of its international connectivity.

Besides American Airlines, they have also resumed operations in Fort Lauderdale with JetBlue and Spirit Airlines; and to New York with JetBlue. It remains to restart Orlando by JetBlue and Atlanta with Delta Air Lines, to return to the same levels as the beginning of 2020.

In addition, on January 1 LATAM reconnected with Lima, although now it is with 4 weekly flights, short of the daily flight they had before the pandemic.

Other international connections that currently operate in Cartagena are KLM to Amsterdam and Panama City with Copa Airlines and Wingo. Pending resumption of flights to Madrid with Plus Ultra Airlines, the seasonal links of Air Canada and Air Transat to Toronto and Montreal respectively; Unfortunately Interjet is not having a good time and the return of the flights to Mexico City is not being contemplated.
