Around noon this Friday, the inaugural flight of TAG Airlines from Tegucigalpa, in alliance with the Honduran airline CM Airlines, landed at El Salvador International Airport.
[videopress McWYPttJ]The company will operate three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, departing from Tegucigalpa at 9:15 am to arrive in San Salvador at 10:14 am. In the opposite direction, the flight will take off from the Salvadoran capital at 2:15 p.m., arriving at Toncontin Airport at 3:15 p.m. The operations are carried out in Saab 340 aircraft with capacity for 34 passengers.
«Starting today, Salvadorans will have a range of flight offer, which will allow them to connect moments and experiences through a modern fleet of aircraft. Despite the various obstacles we face as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are working to open new opportunities,» commented the manager of El Salvador International Airport, Juan Carlos Canales.
For his part, TAG’s Commercial Director, Francisco Pahul, said that «we started this project to retake El Salvador as a hub outside of Guatemala, we made the commitment to open routes and make San Salvador a sub-hub.»

In addition to San Salvador, the current TAG network in Guatemala covers its capital, El Mirador, Flores and Puerto Barrios, while internationally it reaches, in addition to San Salvador and Tegucigalpa, Belize and San Pedro Sula.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, the airline operates 8 routes with 94 weekly flights on average offering 2,819 seats, with a fleet made up of Saab 340, Embraer 110 Bandeirante, ERJ-145 and Bell helicopters.
