Frontier Airlines announced a major expansion for the northern hemisphere winter season, where it will add 41 new routes and includes the addition of five new destinations to its network.
The announcement was divided into seventeen new routes in Orlando, nine in Atlanta, seven in Las Vegas and Dallas / Fort Worth, and one in Denver, Tampa and Miami.
In the middle of the 41 links are five routes to the Caribbean from Orlando (MCO) and Atlanta (ATL), which will connect Montego Bay (MBJ) in Jamaica; Providenciales (PLS) in Turks & Caicos; Antigua & Barbuda (ANU) and Nassau (NAS) in the Bahamas.
«We are delighted to continue growing with a new round of 21 nonstop routes that greatly expand our service in three major markets: Atlanta, Dallas and Las Vegas,» said Daniel Shurz, Senior Vice President of Commerce of Frontier Airlines.
On the other hand, for Orlando it means the largest international expansion, according to Daniel Shurz.
«The summer of 2021 has led to phenomenal growth for Frontier and this announcement of 20 new routes comes immediately after the 21 that we presented last week,» concluded the executive in reference to the announcement of Atlanta, Las Vegas and Dallas.
Throughout 2021, Frontier has been announcing an aggressive increase in flights, landing in new markets with a focus on secondary destinations in the United States, Central America and the Caribbean.
In April it announced 32 new routes including 8 new cities to its network, in May it announced five new routes in Southern California to take on Avelo Airlines, then in mid-July it announced 21 routes from Atlanta, Las Vegas and Dallas / Fort Worth and now the 20 new routes where 17 are from Orlando.
In addition, the airline will inaugurate two new crew bases at Tampa International Airport, Florida, and Hartsfield Jackson, Atlanta.

Frontier Airlines in the Caribbean
Belonging to Indigo Partners, the same group as JetSMART, Wizz Air and Volaris, Frontier had almost no connectivity in the Caribbean.
It landed in the region in June 2012, with flights to Punta Cana (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic, then joined Santo Domingo (SDQ) and San Juan (SJU) in Puerto Rico. However, for almost 10 years it has focused on the three destinations mentioned.
The increase in demand to the Caribbean is reflected by the few vacation options for Americans. The disparate restrictions in Europe, the closing of the borders of Asia-Pacific and the countries of South America leave the Caribbean, Central American and Mexican regions with better growth prospects.
The current summer season is a resounding success for the Caribbean, especially for Aruba and the Dominican Republic, which report levels close to 2019.
With the aforementioned, the company landed in the Bahamas, Jamaica, St. Maarten, the United States Virgin Islands, Turks & Caicos and Antigua & Barbudas. Regardless, it kept a focus on the Dominican Republic, its main Caribbean market.
According to information obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, in July the offer of seats grew by 65.5% in the region compared to the same period in 2019.
For December 2021, an estimated 69% growth in the offer of seats and 57.4% in ASK compared to the same month of 2020, reflecting the great growth that Frontier has experienced this year.
