Sky Cana is a Dominican airline that operates both passenger and cargo flights. Its operations are based in different airports in the country and from there it flies to Miami, Puerto Plata, Santo Domingo, Havana, Santa Clara, Holguin and Panama.

Last October, the company received its air operator certificate from the aeronautical authorities of the Dominican Republic. The company was founded and is managed by Frank Díaz. A few weeks ago it began flying between Miami and the Dominican Republic and its fleet is made up of two A321s passenger aircraft.

Now a third aircraft has been added to its operations, an ATR 72-200 configured for cargo transport. The plane was presented today and after the ceremony it immediately departed for Cuba, in its first operation for the airline.

The ATR 72 is a turboprop-powered aircraft designed for short-duration regional flights. In its passenger version, it carries a maximum of 78 passengers over a maximum distance of 1,500 kilometers. The cargo version, meanwhile, is capable of moving up to 8 tons of goods.
