During the last few weeks there has been a growing interest on the part of Russian airlines to operate to Latin American cities. Among the countries highlighted are Brazil, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Venezuela.
Currently, in terms of routes between Russia and Latin America, Cancun, Cayo Coco, La Romana and Varadero are the airports with operations to and from Moscow, with flights by Aeroflot, Azur Air and Nordwind.
According to information obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, Aeroflot will have non-stop operations between Moscow Sheremetyevo and Punta Cana. The flights will start next October 1, and will be carried out in Airbus A350-900XWB, configured with 316 seats.
Aeroflot will fly three times a week between the two airports. With this schedule of operations, the airline will offer 948 seats per week between Moscow and Punta Cana and vice versa.

The last operations between Moscow and Punta Cana had been in March 2020, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nordwind had four weekly flights on Boeing 777-300(ER) aircraft.
