On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, the Armée de l’Air et de l’Espace (AAE) launched its brand in partnership with Aéro-Design Collection. A high-end collection of aviation-inspired apparel and accessories.
From the Aéro-Club de France, the brand launch ceremony was held with General Philippe Lavigne, Chief of Staff of the French Air and Space Army, as the presenter.

A complete line of men’s and women’s apparel was shown, including some emblematic references such as the recognizable leather jackets of the fighter plane crew, created in the mid-70s, or the Henley that takes up the buckles of the anti-G pants of the fighter pilot’s suits.
The collection also includes a series of accessories (eyewear, jewelry), leather goods and the fragrance «FUTUR», developed especially for the occasion. In total, no less than 58 original items make up this collection inspired by the universe of the French Air and Space Force . The online boutique will soon be available at this address.
The identity of this collection and its affiliation with the French Air Force has been reinforced by the integration of an enameled wheel and a piece made by cutting out a wing of the Mirage IIIB, the emblematic aircraft of the French fighter. Each buyer can thus appropriate a part of the history of the Air Force.
«It’s a historic moment, we’ve made it! It is a real pleasure to be here, with you, to launch the AAE brand, because it is a desire that we have carried out together, as a team,» exclaimed General Philippe Lavigne from the lectern. This brand is also a set of values that we wish to convey, from our large family of more than 40,000 aviators, but also more broadly from the aeronautical world, from the French Aeronautical Federation, from all those who fly and from our industrialists. According to the General, the AAE brand aims to «open up to the international community, in the image and likeness of our institution, which is committed throughout the world to protecting the French and saving lives, as during Operation Resilience or in the recent framework of the air bridge established between Kabul in Afghanistan and France.»
«At the end of 2019, General Philippe Lavigne consulted us on the possibility of launching such a project and we responded favorably. Unfortunately, the Covid slowed things down, but we were able to develop the brand identity during this time,» says Agnès Patrice-Crépin, founding president of Aéro-Design. We had a real military involvement in this project with teamwork that will continue. In fact, two collections per year are planned. If international interest is shown, the AAE brand should «develop first little by little in France and then beyond our borders, in Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, etc.».
