The Air Transport Services Group has contracted Boeing for the first time to convert 767-300 aircraft into freighters.

The world’s largest leasing company specialized in converting 767-300 freighters, has contracted Boeing to carry out the conversion of 4 more units to the model known by the American manufacturer as 767-300BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter).

On previous occasions, conversions of ATSG’s aircraft were handled by other companies that also offered this service.

“Our continued confidence in the 767-300 platform, now combined with the manufacturer’s own services and support, reinforces our commitment to providing the best reliable services to our customers”, said ATSG Chief Commercial Officer Mike Berger.

“We are proud to partner with Boeing upon expanding our fleet to meet growing demand and look forward to growing together in the future”. he completed.

Through our media partner Aeroin,  we are aware that the 767-300BCF has currently more than 100 orders and commitments from customers around the world, providing a large converted cargo capacity to meet growing market demand and therefore capitalizing on a record year of customer orders for Boeing’s family of freighter aircraft.

“We are honored that ATSG has decided to make the 767-300BCF an integral part of its fleet expansion strategy, supporting customers looking to capitalize on strong e-commerce demand”, said Boeing Converted Freighters director Jens Steinhagen.

“As an OEM (manufacturer), Boeing has the original design data, robust supply chains and reliable delivery schedules that benefit BCF customers like ATSG. With this OEM advantage, we are ready to meet ATSG’s needs by adding the 767-300BCF to its fleet”, he added.

ATSG is a leading global cargo leasing company, operating a fleet of 106 Boeing aircraft, including more than 90 units of converted 767 freighters.

Boeing has more than 40 years of experience converting passenger aircraft to freighters, relying on original design data and a deep understanding of the needs of the air cargo industry to deliver an integrated product, including fully built-in manuals and world-class technical support.
