Lufthansa Cargo has signed a 3-year contract with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) at Guarulhos International Airport (SP).
The agreement, which is being implemented already this month, gives WFS the possibility to manage cargo transported onboard the German airline’s passenger, freighter, and pre-flight services.
This is the first WFS contract to include cargo operations in Brazil, as Lufthansa Cargo has been serving this type of air market from São Paulo for more than 30 years.
Under the negotiated terms and from our media partner Aeroin, we learn that WFS will also provide cargo handling services to support Lufthansa Cargo’s on-demand Airbus A340-300 ‘preighter’ operations out of Sao Paulo.
Worldwide Flight Services expects to handle approximately 14,000 tons of total import and export cargo per year in Brazil for the company. In addition, it offers documentation, special cargo handling, and mail services.
The new contract expands the relationship that has existed for more than 10 years between WFS and Lufthansa in Brazil, covering basic security and ramp services.
WFS works at 19 airports in the country and operates 210 daily flights for 19 different companies, providing passenger, ramp, cargo, cargo control, and security services.
