On the third day of the Dubai Air Show, ATR signed an agreement with Afrijet for three ATR 72-600 aircraft. The African airline will now have a total of four units.
The new aircraft will be equipped with state-of-the-art Pratt & Whitney PW127XT-M engines that consume less fuel.
«In order to be efficient in Africa, an aircraft has to be profitable, reliable, and operationally versatile and that is why we need these new ATR aircraft. Creating connectivity in the Gulf of Guinea is essential for the growing trade and community integration in the CEMAC area. As an operator in Equatorial Africa, home to the second-largest forest in the world, we are proud to be prepared to invest in a device with a low carbon footprint and a controlled and predictable ecological impact» said Mark Gaffajoli, CEO of Afrijet.
