EgyptAir puts all its Embraer E170s up for sale

After withdrawing all Embraer from operation between 2019 and early 2020, EgyptAir Holding is offering for sale the nine E170s it owns.

The units operated on behalf of EgyptAir Express until March 2020 and are currently stored at Cairo International Airport. The aircraft are airworthy and are being sold together with General Electric CF34-8E engines.

This model was removed from service upon the arrival of the new Airbus A220s, who then took over the Egyptian carrier’s regional operations. In total, EgyptAir operated twelve E170s, three of which were leased to other owners.

From our partner Aeroin, it has come to our attention that the Indian holding company has opened a public bidding process for the sale of these aircraft.
