During the pandemic crisis, United never stopped serving the British capital. It currently operates seven daily flights between New York/Newark, Washington Dulles, Chicago O’ Hare, Houston-Intercontinental, and San Francisco. In December its operation increases to ten daily flights.
By the 2022 summer season, United will serve all seven major markets between the United States and London, adding five new flights.
United will also begin a new point-to-point service beginning March 26, 2022, linking Boston to London-Heathrow with daily flights operated on Boeing 767-300ERs.
In 2019, 1,191,263 passengers flew between London and Boston, one of the busiest long-haul routes between the United States and the United Kingdom. In the summer United will be facing fierce competition from British Airways, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and JetBlue.
United’s last service on this route was in October 2002.
The airline will now operate seven daily flights between New York/Newark and London/Heathrow, all operated on Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
New York – London is the busiest long-haul route worldwide. In 2019, 4,881,021 passengers were carried between the two cities’ main airports. By the 2022 summer season, 7 airline operators will be vying for the most lucrative commercial aviation market globally.
From the West Coast, United will increase its service between San Francisco and London/Heathrow to 3 daily flights operated with Boeing 777-200ER and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
London is San Francisco’s primary European route. In 2019, 1,192,282 passengers were mobilized from the main airports of both cities.
Keeping its commitment to its largest domestic hub, United will increase frequencies on its Denver – London/Heathrow route to two daily flights, resuming service on March 4, 2022, with the second frequency starting on March 26, 2022.
In 2019, 377,415 passengers were flown between the two cities. By summer 2022 United will only compete against British Airways on this route.
