The new Canadian startup company has signed an agreement to purchase its first Airbus A320 via leasing, with expected delivery in February 2022.

Canada has been facing major challenges due to the COVID 19 health crisis: until August 2021 travelers were not allowed to leave the country for tourism. Nevertheless, three airlines have announced their intention to start operations in 2022: Connect Airlines, Linx Airlines, and Canada Jetlines.

Canada Jetlines will focus on serving vacation demand, and will initially hire one of Global Crossing X’s aircraft for its flights to Florida for the 2022 boreal season.

In agreement with Jackson Square Aviation (JSA), the company will acquire via lease another Airbus A320 and has already signed a letter of intent for two additional A320s.

“I am pleased that we have a final agreement for our first aircraft,” stated Canada Jetlines CEO Eddy Doyle. “Canada Jetlines is well-positioned to bring the finalization of our airline licensing process with an expected launch date in the second quarter of 2022.”

Recaro 3530 seats.

The aircraft, with manufacturer’s serial number 4,175, was previously owned by Pegasus (TC-DCJ) and Avianca (N417AV). Before delivery, the aircraft will be painted in Canada Jetlines colors in Shannon, Ireland, and will include the fitting of new Recaro 3530 seats, with power and personal electronics support installed in the seat.

It will also include the installation of the Flymingo Box system from France’s Moment, which offers a portable wireless IFE for the in-flight entertainment system.
