Edelweiss resumes several destinations in the United States, Canada and increases its offer to Spain for summer 2022

Edelweiss will resume operations to several U.S. and Canadian destinations for the 2022 northern summer season, several of which it did not serve in 2021 due to health restrictions.

The Swiss airline will offer five destinations in the United States and Canada, although San Diego (SAN) and Orlando (MCO) will remain suspended for the time being.

Central America and the Caribbean will have seven destinations; South America operations will be suspended until next season including Rio de Janeiro (GIG) and Buenos Aires (EZE)-the latter having been taken over by SWISS.

North America schedule for summer 2022

United States

  • Tampa (TPA) two weekly flights starting March 2.
  • Las Vegas (LAS) three weekly flights starting April 4.
  • Denver (DEN) two weekly flights starting June 13.

Canada

  • Calgary (YYC) one flight weekly beginning June 5.
  • Vancouver (YVR) two weekly flights starting May 15, increasing to three weekly frequencies from June 5.

All flights will be operated on Airbus A340-300 aircraft.

Central America and the Caribbean with greater recovery

In Central America and the Caribbean, Edelweiss will offer flights to Liberia (LIR), Havana (HAV), Varadero (VAR), Puerto Plata (POP) as well as to the most popular destinations in its long-haul network, Cancun (CUN), Punta Cana (PUJ) and San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO).

Given the restrictions in Asia-Pacific, the airline has been able to successfully bid on the main vacation destinations of Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica, while it is also studying the launch of flights to Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ).

More destinations in Spain

Spain was one of the regions with the strongest recovery for Edelweiss during the 2021 summer season, which means that by 2022 it will expand its offering to 12 destinations between the Iberian Peninsula, Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands: Lanzarote (ACE), Fuerteventura (FUE), Jerez de la Frontera (XRY), Ibiza (IBZ), Gran Canaria (LPA), La Palma (SPC), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Menorca (MAH), Santiago de Compostela (SVQ), Seville, Tenerife – South (TSF) and will add Bilbao (BIO) as of March 27 with three weekly flights, all operated on Airbus A320s.

By summer 2022 the airline will operate to 75 destinations in 32 countries and will operate 410 short-haul flights and 57 on long-haul routes, significantly increasing its offer compared to 2021.
