The French Directorate General of Civil Aviation awarded Air Nostrum, Iberia’s franchise airline for regional flights, the operation of the Public Service Obligation (OSP) for the Strasbourg – Madrid route until April 2025.

The Valencian airline has been winning this tender for 21 years, which, Air Nostrum emphasized, is a sign of trust from the French administration and how they see in it “the best partner to connect the French city with Europe and America thanks to the connections it offers at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport”.

Through this agreement, Air Nostrum will operate a daily flight from Monday to Friday in CRJ-200 aircraft with a capacity for 50 passengers, departing from Madrid at 15:25 to arrive in Strasbourg at 17:35. It will take off from Strasbourg at 18:05, landing at Barajas at 20:25.

This operation will be complemented by a second flight on Mondays and Thursdays in the weeks when the European Parliament is in session in Strasbourg, departing Madrid at 9:00 and arriving at 11:10, returning from Entzheim Airport at 14:00 and arriving at 16:20.

“We are very honored to have succeeded in renewing the agreement. After two decades this route has become one of the company’s most emblematic routes. The three-year agreement allows us to face this new agreement with maximum guarantees,” commented Carlos Bertomeu, president of Air Nostrum.

According to the airline, more than 20% of passengers flying between Strasbourg and Madrid then connect to other destinations in the Iberia network or Oneworld alliance companies. Since 2001, Air Nostrum has transported more than 300,000 passengers.
