LATAM Group’s Ecuadorian subsidiary LATAM launched a direct service between Quito (UIO) and Loja (LOH), increasing the offer in southern Ecuador.

Flight LA 1363 arrived at Catamayo Airport at 06:07, after a one-hour flight from the capital of Ecuador. The service will initially operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and is expected to move more than 15,000 passengers per year between these two cities. The service will be operated on Airbus A319s, with a capacity of 144 seats.

«This is an example of how working together allows us to achieve great things. With the arrival of this operation to Loja, we aim to attract tourism and serve the production of this region of the country,» said Monica Fistrovic, CEO of LATAM Airlines Ecuador.

«LATAM’s operation between Quito and Loja is a clear proof of the airline’s confidence in the potential of the route that links two cities with very strong historical and cultural ties,» said Ramón Miró, President of Quiport.

Quiport’s President also announced that he is seeking to recover Ecuador’s connectivity with more flights and new destinations after the departure of TAME.

«Tourism and business will benefit from this new operation. We are working very hard not only to recover the connectivity hit by the pandemic but also to find new opportunities for internal and external routes. On behalf of Quiport, I wish the airline success in this new operation,» said Ramón Miró, President of Quiport.
