British Airways is launching a new daytime flight between Newark (EWR) to London Heathrow (LHR) beginning June 6, increasing the operation of this route to three daily flights during the northern summer season.

This additional flight to Newark (EWR) will be operated on Boeing 777-200ERs with new cabins including 48 Club World seats (1-2-1 configuration), 40 World Traveler Plus seats, and 184 World Traveler seats. The BA189/188 service will be the only service operated with the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, which offers First Class.
The daytime flight is already available for sale, with promotional fares starting at USD 690 in World Traveler and USD 3,195 in Club World.
This route increase aims to meet the growing demand for business travel, offering greater convenience to British Airways customers living in Manhattan, Staten Island and New Jersey.
Data obtained by Aviacionline through Civil Authority Aviation UK (CAA) in 2019 the route between London Heathrow (LHR) and Newark (EWR) mobilized 977,730 passengers.
Increased presence in the New York metropolitan area
British Airways, along with joint venture partner American Airlines, will offer the most extensive network from New York and London with 15 daily departures, including 11 daily flights between John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) to Heathrow (LHR) and one daily service between New York (JFK) and Gatwick (LGW).
Beginning April 1, all flights to New York (JFK) and Newark (EWR) from London (LHR) on British Airways and American Airlines will depart from Heathrow Airport (LHR) Terminal 5. By next year all British flag carrier flights will depart from JFK Terminal 8.
