Canadian ULCC carriers Flair Airlines and Swoop have scheduled new destinations and increased frequencies on multiple routes both domestically and internationally for the northern summer season.
Flair Airlines
The airline plans to increase its domestic and international operations primarily from Calgary (YYC) and Vancouver (YVR), in addition to other domestic destinations.
Calgary (YYC)
Flair plans to increase frequencies to several domestic destinations including:
- Toronto (YYZ): up to 12 weekly flights.
- Montreal (YUL): six flights per week.
- Vancouver (YVR) up to 19 flights per week.
- Kelowna (YLW): four flights per week.
- Kitchener – Waterloo (YKF): five flights per week.
- Ottawa (YOW): three flights per week.
Vancouver (YVR)
Flair will introduce a new U.S. destination to Anchorage (ANC) with two flights per week beginning May 19, this service will be seasonal for the summer season. Promotional fares start at USD 99.

More domestic destinations
The airline will also introduce three domestic routes, including Toronto (YYZ) – Halifax (YHZ) with daily flights from May 1, Ottawa (YOW) – Charlottetown (YYG) with three weekly flights from July 6, and Ottawa (YOW) – Victoria (YYJ) with two weekly frequencies from May 7.
Flair is also increasing frequencies on the following domestic routes:
- Toronto (YYZ) – Winnipeg (YWG): up to 12 weekly flights.
- Toronto (YYZ) – Saint John (YYT): four times weekly.
- Ottawa (YOW) – Winnipeg (YWG): four times a week.
- Ottawa (YOW) – Vancouver (YVR): five times a week.
- Toronto (YYZ) – Victoria (YYJ): twice weekly.
- Vancouver (YVR) – Edmonton (YEG): up to 17 weekly flights.
Swoop
Canada’s leading ultra-low-fare airline will increase its presence for the northern summer season in the United States with five new destinations.
Nashville (BNA)
- Toronto (YYZ) has four weekly flights starting May 26.
- Edmonton (YEG) has two weekly flights starting June 19.
San Francisco (SFO)
- Edmonton (YEG) four flights weekly beginning June 6.
Chicago O’Hare (ORD)
- Toronto (YYZ) five flights weekly beginning May 30.
New York (JFK)
- Toronto (YYZ) has five flights weekly beginning June 20.
Los Angeles, Burbank (BUR)
- Edmonton (YEG) has three weekly flights starting June 23.
In addition to its five new destinations, the Canadian ULCC will extend its existing seasonal services to San Diego (SAN), Palm Springs (PSP), Las Vegas (LAS), St. Pete – Clearwater (PIE), Orlando – Sanford (SFB) and Phoenix-Mesa (AZA). In total, Swoop will serve 11 U.S. destinations from its three main bases in Toronto (YYZ), Edmonton (YEG), and Hamilton (YHM).
«As Canada’s leading ultra-low-cost carrier, we are growing our fleet, expanding our network, and adding services to existing destinations to ensure we are ready to meet Canada’s pent-up demand for south-of-the-border travel experiences,» said Bert ven der Stege, Swoop’s chief commercial and financial officer.
The Canadian airline plans to add six additional Boeing 737 MAX 8’s to its fleet of 10 Boeing 737-800 NG’s, Swoop will offer during the summer season 250 weekly flights to 33 destinations, in addition to the United States the company offers international service to Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica.
