Spirit Airlines announced that it will add Frederick Douglass Greater International Airport, which serves Rochester (ROC) in New York, to its network of destinations.

The carrier will fly from that city to Orlando (MCO), Florida, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, beginning June 24, 2022.

“We look forward to welcoming Rochester-area residents aboard our bright yellow aircraft and offering them More Go to exciting vacation destinations,” said John Kirby, vice president of network planning for Spirit Airlines.

Kirby stated that the waterfront attractions of these two cities will attract Rochester residents for the upcoming summer season.

Spirit will be the sole operator between Orlando and Rochester, providing guests with its More Go program, which includes theme park attractions and family entertainment. It will also be the sole operator to Myrtle Beach, another premier destination with 60 miles of coastline and The Golf Capital of the World, the largest golf course in the United States.

“Whether you are planning a family vacation to Disney World or Universal Studios in Orlando or a trip to Myrtle Beach for a golf getaway, Spirit Airlines offers a convenient and affordable way to travel to those two popular vacation destinations. We welcome Spirit’s commitment and investment in our community and the Rochester Airport,” said County Executive Adam Bello.
