United becomes the foreign carrier with the most premium seat offer in Switzerland

As part of United Airlines’ transatlantic expansion to become the largest long-haul carrier in Switzerland for the summer boreal season, data obtained by Aviacionline through the Cirium platform, the company will have an ASK of more than 243 million and will offer more premium seats than any other airline.

United will offer six daily flights to Switzerland to destinations Geneva (GVA) and Zurich (ZRH) via its hubs at Newark (EWR), Washington Dulles (IAD), Chicago O’ Hare (ORD) and San Francisco (SFO), making it the only long-haul airline to offer more destinations in Switzerland.

A large portion of the flights will be operated on 167-seat Boeing 767-300ER High J aircraft configured with 46 Polaris Business Class, 22 Premium Plus, 43 Economy Plus and 56 Economy. The Chicago-based carrier will offer 278 business class seats and 131 premium economy seats per week, more than any other foreign carrier.

United’s Swiss schedule for the summer of 2022

Chicago O’ Hare (ORD) – Zurich (ZRH)

This new service will begin on April 23 with daily flights operated by Boeing 767-300ER High J, schedules are as follows:

  • Flight UA3 ORD 16:10 – ZRH 07:55+1
  • Flight UA12 ZRH 09:50 – ORD 12:40

In 2019 this route was mobilized 214,671 passengers by Swiss partner United.

Newark (EWR) – Zurich (ZRH).

It will have a daily Boeing 767-300ER High J flight operation, schedules are as follows:

  • Flight UA134 EWR 18:55 – ZRH 08:40+1
  • Flight UA135 ZRH 10:20 – EWR 13:45

In 2019 this route moved 284,994 passengers by Swiss and United.

Newark (EWR) – Geneva (GVA).

It will have a daily Boeing 767-300ER High J flight operation, schedules are as follows:

  • Flight UA974 EWR 17:55 – GVA 07:35+1
  • Flight UA975 GVA 09:15 – EWR 12:30

In 2019 this route moved 108,800 passengers by United.

Washington Dulles (IAD) – Zurich (ZRH).

It will have a daily Boeing 767-300ER High J flight operation, schedules are as follows:

  • Flight UA52 IAD 17:50 – ZRH 07:55+1
  • Flight UA53 ZRH 11:45 – IAD 15:25

In 2019 this route moved 130,329 passengers by United.

Washington Dulles (IAD) – Geneva (GVA)

It will have a daily Boeing 767-300ER High J flight operation, schedules are as follows:

  • Flight UA956 IAD 17:30 – ZRH 07:25+1
  • Flight UA957 ZRH 11:40 – IAD 15:15

In 2019 this route mobilized 87,584 passengers by United.

San Francisco (SFO) – Zurich (ZRH)

United will resume seasonal service to Switzerland from its main transpacific hub, which will be operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with new cabins.

In 2019 this route moved 279,848 passengers between Swiss and United, the third largest destination between Switzerland and the United States.
