LATAM Cargo has presented its projections for February 14, the first key season for the cargo business, during which it expects to transport approximately 9,500 tons of flowers from Colombia to the United States, particularly to the city of Miami.

From Florida, the flowers will begin a distribution process to various places in North America. The expected figure represents a 41% increase over last year’s figure.

«We want to be the main ally of flower growers throughout the country and contribute to the growth of their business by offering the best alternatives in frequency and capacity. Despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic, our commitment has always been to safeguard the supply to the sector to boost its growth,» said Claudio Torres, international commercial director of LATAM Cargo.

During the season that runs until February 11, LATAM Group will increase weekly flights from 28 to 52 to connect Colombia with the city of Miami.

Thus, the company can transport flowers from the coffee-growing departments of Antioquia and Cundinamarca: roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, alstroemeria, hydrangeas and lilies, among others.

Valentine’s Day, together with Mother’s Day, are the dates of greatest exportation of flowers from Colombia and Ecuador. For this Valentine’s Day season, 33% more flowers are expected to fly between the 2 countries.

«We work every day to offer solutions that allow us to boost our customers’ business. In this way, our specialized attention in the transport of perishable products allows us to offer an international level service, guaranteeing the transport of fresh flowers from origin to final destination,» Torres added.
