Avelo Airlines announced that it will expand its West Coast operations by adding Boise (BOI) in Idaho and Spokane (GEG) in Washington from its base in Hollywood/Burbank (BUR).
The inaugural flight to Boise will be on May 24 and to Spokane on May 25: both services will have two flights per week on Boeing 737-800 aircraft seating 189 passengers.
The addition of Boise and Spokane by the end of May will expand Avelo’s route network from Burbank to eleven West Coast destinations. This will bring the company’s service to 27 destinations nationwide, including its East Coast base in New Haven (HVN), Connecticut.
«We are excited to add Boise and Spokane to our network of beautiful and popular destinations in the western United States,» said Avelo President and CEO Andrew Levy.
«Boise Airport is thrilled to welcome Avelo Airlines later this spring,» said Boise Airport Director Rebecca Hupp.
The director explained that the addition of service to Hollywood Burbank Airport provides more nonstop travel options for the region and easy access to downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, Pasadena, and other attractions throughout Southern California.
Spokane will be the second destination in Washington state, as it operates out of Pasco (PSC) with three weekly flights.
Avelo began service on April 28, 2021, from its first base in Burbank. The airline is focused on operating to destinations not served by other carriers.
