JetBlue inaugurated its services to Kansas City and Milwaukee from its base at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS).
With the new daily flights, the airline continues its growth in the northeastern United States and strengthens its presence in the Midwest. In addition, the added frequencies strengthen JetBlue’s Northeast Alliance (NEA) with American Airlines. The alliance is expected to offer nearly 500 daily departures from the three major airports serving New York City and 200 from Boston.
Milwaukee
«Adding Milwaukee to our route map will help diversify our markets, support our growth strategy in the Northeast and give our customers more travel options,» said Andrea Lusso, JetBlue’s Vice President of Network Planning.
Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) currently offers nonstop flights to more than 35 destinations coast-to-coast. More than 200 international destinations are available within a single connection. In early March, the air station received the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) award as the best airport in North America from Airports Council International. It is one of only eight US airports to have received this honor.
According to Brian Dranzi, Airport Director: «Many people have been asking when JetBlue would come to Milwaukee. I’m glad that day has arrived. With our community’s support, JetBlue will do well here and carry many travelers to New York and Boston».
The flights will be operated with Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
Kansas City
«Our customers and crewmembers have been asking for years to add flights to the Midwest and we listened,» said Andrea Lusso. «We are very excited to add Kansas City to our growing network and connect the Northeast to the heart of America by introducing our low fares and outstanding service and providing customers access to our New York and Boston focus city networks», she added.
Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is an important link between the center of the country and the rest of the world. It attracts a large number of travelers and cargo from the region and plays an important role in its growth and development.
Pat Klein, Kansas City’s Director of Aviation, said: «Our team is constantly working to enhance access to the US and beyond for our citizens». «We’re happy that JetBlue is our new partner to help support that effort», he added.
The flights will be operated with Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
