Vueling will add a sixth aircraft at its base in Bilbao (BIO) for the 2022 summer boreal season starting June 17. With this addition, the company will further expand its connections.
During the summer, three new routes will be highlighted by the company to Almeria (LEI), Copenhagen (CPH), and Malta (MLA), all of which will have a twice-weekly frequency and will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 seats in a single configuration.
Vueling will resume two domestic destinations to Murcia (RMU) and La Palma (SPC) and increase operation to the following services. These include: London Gatwick (LGW), Gran Canaria (LPA), Valencia (VLC), and Lanzarote (ACE).
From Bilbao (BIO) the Low Cost airline will also serve domestic destinations. These are Alicante (ALC), Barcelona (BCN), Fuerteventura (FUE), Granada (GRX), Ibiza (IBZ), Jerez de la Frontera (XRY), Malaga (AGP), Menorca (MAH), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Santiago de Compostela (SCQ), Seville (SVQ) and Tenerife – North (TFN).
The international network will offer flights to Amsterdam (AMS), Lisbon (LIS), Milan – Malpensa (MXP), Paris (CDG), Porto (OPO) and Rome – Fiumicino (FCO).
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Cirium platform, during the peak months of the summer season Vueling will offer more than 323,000 seats per month on more than 1,700 flights. The company will be based in Bilbao (BIO) with Airbus A320/A321 aircraft.
Based on Aena Estadísticas, Vueling in 2021 mobilized 1,351,077 passengers in 9,903 air operations. This represents a recovery of 57.86% and 62.90% compared to 2019 levels.
