American Airlines resumes flights between Phoenix and London

On April 5, American Airlines resumed transatlantic operations from Phoenix – Sky Harbor (PHX) to London Heathrow (LHR) on daily flights operated on 273-seat Boeing 777-200ERs. The carrier’s last operation on this route was in March 2020.

London is the main transatlantic destination of Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), according to data obtained by Aviacionline through Civil Aviation Authority UK (CAA) in 2019 312,469 passengers were mobilized on this route.

British Airways in August last year resumed operations between London (LHR) and Phoenix (PHX) and currently offers daily Boeing 777 flights, with the return of American Airlines the route returns to pre-pandemic scheduling with two daily flights.

During the 2022 summer season, American Airlines will offer up to 22 daily flights and a supply of 89,432 seats per week to London Heathrow (LHR) from 10 U.S. airports, the carrier will have increased capacity to the British capital above 2019 levels.
