Binter Canarias announced new services from its bases in the Canary Islands. Thanks to the opening of new routes and the increase in existing frequencies, the airline will strengthen its presence in West Africa and Madeira, Portugal.
From tomorrow (2 April), it will offer a new connection between Gran Canaria (LPA) and Guelmim (GLN), in southwest Morocco. Using an ATR 72-600 with a capacity for up to 72 passengers, the two airports will be connected twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
From July, the Canary Islands airline’s schedule in Madeira, where it has been flying to since 2005, will grow significantly. Fuerteventura (FUE), Lanzarote (ACE) and Tenerife Sur (TFS) airports will have direct connections. Thus, Binter will operate seven routes to the Portuguese island, three more than in 2021. The total number of seats on offer will exceed 100,000 this year.
Flights from Fuerteventura and Lanzarote will be on Saturdays. On Mondays and Wednesdays there will be connections from Tenerife South. Meanwhile, services from Tenerife North (TFN), currently available on Tuesdays and Saturdays, will remain unchanged. Operations from Gran Canaria will also be increased to daily.
In addition, a new route outside the Canary Islands will be added to the network: as a result of the joint work between Binter and the National Tourist Office of Morocco (ONMT), the airline will connect Marrakech with Madeira next summer.
Another important aspect of Binter’s new schedule is the establishment of the Canary Islands as a hub for connections between Dakar and destinations in continental Europe. The new departure and arrival times will facilitate transit between the capital city of Senegal and flights to Spain and other European destinations.
Also starting next July, the company will offer three weekly connections between Gran Canaria and Dakar. In addition to the flights already available on Mondays and Thursdays, a new frequency will be added on Tuesdays. The new services are already open for sale through the different Binter channels.
