JetBlue announces flights between Boston and London

JetBlue is expanding its transatlantic operations with new service from Boston to London. The airline will offer flights from Logan Airport (BOS) to the British capital’s two main airports (Heathrow and Gatwick).

London is Boston’s (BOS) main international market, which JetBlue does not currently serve. With services from Gatwick (LGW) and Heathrow (LHR), JetBlue will be the only airline to offer flights between that U.S. city and the British capital’s two main airports.

«Our strategy of flying to Heathrow and Gatwick airports has been a success for us in New York, and we have secured slots to be able to do the same in Boston, making us the only airline in New England to offer the flights to London’s two major airports,» said Robin Hayes, JetBlue’s chief executive officer.

«The service to London has been an incredible success so far and we’ve been able to come in with our unmatched JetBlue service and expertise and reduce fares on a traditionally expensive route – the JetBlue Effect in action,» Hayes added.

Flights on the Gatwick (LGW) and Heathrow (LHR) routes will operate daily on Airbus A321LRs with 24 Mint Suites and 114 economy seats. Ticket sales are available through the airline’s website.

With JetBlue’s new transatlantic services from Boston (BOS), business and leisure passengers will be able to make connections to Washington DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Civil Authority Aviation UK (CAA), 1,191,263 passengers were mobilized between Boston (BOS) and London (LHR+LGW) in 2019, with the British capital being the main long-haul destination from Logan International Airport (BOS).

During the 2022 northern summer season, Boston to London will be served by Delta Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, American Airlines and United Airlines, in addition to JetBlue.
