Venezolana will have international flights from Barquisimeto

The Jacinto Lara International Airport (BRM) which serves the city of Barquisimeto in the state of Lara, is preparing the reactivation of international air operations through Venezolana Airlines where it will offer destinations to Panama – Tocumen (PTY) and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic (PTY).

From Panama
  • Panama Tocumen – Barquisimeto Flight VNE1423 PTY 11:30 – BRM 14:00 Monday
  • Barquisimeto – Panama Tocumen Flight VNE1422 BRM 12:00 – PTY 12:30 Monday
  • Barquisimeto – Panama Tocumen Flight VNE 1422 BRM 11:00 – PTY 11:30 Wednesday.
  • Panama Tocumen – Barquisimeto Flight VNE1423 PTY 12:30 – BRM 15:00 Wednesday.

Operations start on April 25, 2022.

From the Dominican Republic
  • Santo Domingo – Barquisimeto Flight VNE1523 SDQ 11:30 – BRM 13:00 Thursday and Sunday.
  • Barquisimeto – Santo Domingo Flight VNE1522 BRM 14:00 – SDQ 15:30 Thursday and Sunday.

Operations start on April 28, 2022.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through The Civil Aviation Board of the Dominican Republic, Venezolana in 2019 mobilized 34,988 passengers between Venezuela and the Caribbean country and the route between Barquisimeto (BRM) and Santo Domingo (SDQ) transported a total of 1,927 passengers.

With these new flights, residents of Barquisimeto and other cities in central-western Venezuela will be able to connect with international flights without the need to travel to other airports such as Valencia (VLN) and Caracas (CCS).

“They contribute to the commercial and tourist strengthening of the state of Lara, without forgetting neighboring cities such as Barinas, San Carlos, Portuguesa or Guanare, who will be able to purchase commercial tickets, transport cargo or parcels and transport live animals”, said Jose Iriarte, Marketing Director of the Venezuelan airline.

Panama – Tocumen: a hub for many Venezuelans

Currently, Venezuela still has restrictions on international flights, for this reason, Panama (PTY) has become for many travelers an ideal option to make their international connections, with the new service of Venezolana, five Venezuelan cities will have flights to Tocumen International Airport (PTY), being the only destination that serves more routes to Venezuela.

  • Barcelona (BLA): COPA Airlines (starts June 30, 2022).
  • Barquisimeto (BRM): Venezolana (starts on April 25, 2022).

Dominican Republic :greater connectivity with Venezuela

The Caribbean country is another important international destination for the Venezuelan community to make popular connections to the United States, Canada, and Europe with the new Venezolana operation. The Dominican Republic will be served from five Venezuelan cities through the airports of Santo Domingo (SDQ) and Punta Cana (PUJ).

According to data obtained by the JAC prior to the pandemic, 166,616 passengers and 2,167.5 tons of cargo were moved between Venezuela and the Caribbean country.

Previously the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) authorized Sky High to operate to several destinations in Venezuela, including a very attractive route to Porlamar (PMV), if the company were to operate this service, the Dominican Republic would be connected to six Venezuelan cities.
