ZIPAIR increases flights to the United States

ZIPAIR, the low cost subsidiary of Japan Airlines, is increasing its flights to the United States during the 2022 summer season, due to the easing of health restrictions recently announced in Japan.

Tokyo Narita – Honolulu

Between July 16 through August 31, the low-cost carrier will increase its operations on this route from 3 times a week to daily flights, on the following schedule:

  • Flight ZG2 NRT 19:15 – HNL 07:55*.
  • Flight ZG1 HNL 09:55 – NRT 13:15+1**

*ZG2 departs Narita at 19:30 and arrives in Honolulu at 8:10 (for Thursday and Saturday flights).
**ZG1 departs Honolulu at 10:10 and arrives at Narita at 13:30 (for Monday flights).

According to data compiled by Aviacionline through the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) in 2019 moved between Honolulu (HNL) and Tokyo Narita (NRT) moved 1,642,964 passengers, making it the second busiest international route in the United States.

Tokyo Narita – Los Angeles

As of July 1, it increases from six times a week to daily flights on this route, the schedule is as follows:

  • Flight ZG24 NRT 14:45 – LAX 09:00
  • Flight ZG23 LAX 11:00 – NRT 14:10+1

ZIPAIR is one of the pioneer airlines in introducing the low cost segment in one of the main premium transpacific markets such as Tokyo – Los Angeles, where it competes with airlines such as United Airlines, Singapore Airlines, All Nippon Airways, previously between Narita and LAX 889,475 passengers were mobilized, one of the busiest international routes on the west coast of the United States.

All of the low-cost carrier’s flights will be operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with 290 seats in two classes (18 Business Class and 272 in Economy). The airline also offers flights to Singapore (SIN), Bangkok (BKK) and Seoul – Incheon (ICN) and expects to increase its fleet to 10 aircraft in the coming years.

During the northern summer of 2022, the United States will be ZIPAIR’s main market where it will offer 8,120 seats per week from its base at Narita (NRT).
