At 12:24 p.m. local time on Wednesday, June 1st, the inaugural Iberia flight to Washington, D.C. departed Madrid. The Spanish airline resumes regular operations to the U.S. capital after an almost 11-year suspension.
Iberia will fly four times a week between Madrid and Washington with Airbus A330-200s, configured for 288 passengers in two classes. With this schedule, the company will offer 1,152 weekly seats per leg.
Washington is Iberia’s sixth destination in the United States (seventh incorporating San Juan, Puerto Rico).
