This Thursday (June 9), JetBlue inaugurated for the first time its operations to Canada with a non-stop service between New York (JFK) and Vancouver (YVR) with daily flights. According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, the airline will offer 2,268 seats per week.
Flight B6 603 took off from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) at 17:10 local time, this new route is thanks to the Northeast Alliance with American Airlines, where both companies offer the most seats in the New York metropolitan area.
This new route increases air connectivity between the East Coast of the United States and Western Canada, offering business and leisure passengers new travel options.
The new service will generate approximately $7.5 million in combined GDP, $5.1 million in tourism spending and an additional 100 jobs at YVR and across B.C.’s hotel, restaurants and tourist attractions.

The flights will be operated on Airbus A320ceo aircraft with a capacity of 150 and 162 seats respectively. This new service will be available year-round.
JetBlue will have a 33.43% share of the market between the Big Apple and Vancouver, where it will be the second largest carrier, behind only Air Canada, and will be the only airline to connect British Columbia’s main city with John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK). F. Kennedy Airport (JFK).
From New York (JFK), the company offers more than 30 international destinations in Europe, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean. Previously the company had plans to launch seasonal service between Boston (BOS) and Vancouver (YVR) but plans were put on hold.
