National Airlines, Air Transat, Peach Aviation, Flyadeal, Jazeera Airways, Cyprus Airways, Air Malta and Airbus Transport International (ATI) will be the first customers of Mission+, the electronic flight assistant (EFA) developed by Airbus and officially unveiled at the Dubai Airshow 2021.
The technology was created by NAVBLUE, the European manufacturer’s proprietary company for the development of electronic tools to support flight planning, aircraft performance analysis, aeronautical chart management and organization of the different phases of the operation.
The new tool brings together all available and required information in a single application. Mission+ integrates performance data, documentation, checklists, navigation charts, aerodrome maps and weather conditions, among other information.
The implementation of this type of solution makes it possible to unify in one device everything that was traditionally available on different tools. This reduces the workload of crews and speeds up the flow of information between ground and onboard systems. In addition, electronic assistants reduce the risk of error associated with manual entries.
Fabrice Hamel, CEO of NAVBLUE, said: «With over 30 years of experience in charting and paperless cockpit operations, we offer the first electronic assistant that enhances the pilot’s journey experience and the airline’s operational efficiency». In addition, he said his team «is proud» to already have the first eight customers for the product.
