Condor adds a fifth destination in Canada

For the 2023 summer season, Condor will begin flights to a fifth destination in Canada with a new service between Frankfurt (FRA) and Edmonton (YEG) with twice-weekly flights. This will be the only connection between Germany and the provincial capital of Alberta.

«With the additional long-haul destination, we offer our guests an even greater choice of direct connections to their vacation and strengthen our presence in North America,» said Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor.

«Many other destinations in Canada are also accessible through our cooperation partner WestJet,» Teckentrup added.

The popular German leisure airline will be the second long-haul carrier to operate out of Edmonton International Airport (YEG) offering a second European route, currently KLM is the only carrier to connect the Old Continent to Alberta’s capital.

Flight Itinerary

  • Frankfurt – Edmonton Flight DE 2468 FRA 11:00 – YEG 12:45 Friday.
  • Frankfurt – Edmonton Flight DE 2468 FRA 13:45 – YEG 15:30 Tuesday.
  • Edmonton – Frankfurt Flight DE 2469 YEG 14:35 – FRA 08:00+1 Friday.
  • Edmonton – Frankfurt Flight DE 2469 YEG 17:20 – FRA 10:45+1 Tuesday.

Flights will be operated on 259-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft in two classes and promotional fares start at EUR 359.99 each way. The service will commence from May 26, 2023, and end on September 1, 2023.

For the upcoming summer season Condor will have an offering of 7,768 seats per week to Canada via five destinations including Toronto (YYZ), Vancouver (YVR), Halifax (YHZ), Whitehorse (YXY) and Edmonton (YEG).

The last non-stop service between Alberta’s capital city and Frankfurt (FRA) was by Air Transat the carrier had seasonal service between June 15, 2010, to September 29, 2021, with a weekly flight operated on Airbus A330s with 363-seat capacity.

Condor’s Canadian schedule for the 2023 summer season

  • Edmonton (YEG) two weekly flights on Boeing 767-300ER.
  • Toronto – Pearson (YYZ) five flights per week on Airbus A330-200 and A330-900neo.
  • Whitehorse (YXY) one weekly frequency on Boeing 767-300ER.
  • Vancouver (YVR) three flights per week on Airbus A330-200 and A330-900neo.
  • Halifax (YHZ) three flights per week on Boeing 767-300ER.
