Cathay Pacific resumes flights to Madrid

Cathay Pacific resumes its non-stop services between Hong Kong (HKG) and Madrid (MAD) with a weekly frequency from October 2, the last regular operation of the company in the Spanish capital was on March 17, 2022, the interruption of this route was in consequence of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic,

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Aena Statistics indicate that Cathay Pacific mobilized in Spain 274,094 passengers and 11,419.15 passengers in 974 air operations in 2019, the fourth largest market for the company in Europe only behind the United Kingdom, Italy, and France.

The Hong Kong-based airline offers business and leisure passengers from Spain the most convenient options for connections via any destination in Asia or Oceania. The airline’s operations to Barcelona (BCN) remain suspended for the time being.

Flight Itinerary

  • Hong Kong – Madrid Flight CX 315 HKG 01:10 – MAD 08:20 Saturday.
  • Madrid – Hong Kong Flight CX 372 MAD 11:25 – HKG 07:05+1 Saturday.

The route will be operated on Airbus A350-900 aircraft with a capacity of 280 passengers in three classes and promotional fares are available from USD 1,330 each way. This schedule will be available between October and January 2023.

According to data compiled by Aena Statistics prior to the pandemic between the Spanish capital and Hong Kong, 164,215 passengers and 6,686.43 tons of cargo were moved in 562 air operations.

This is an important new milestone on our path to full recovery of the flight schedule,» said Maggie Wong, Manager for Southern Europe at Cathay Pacific.

«Month after month, our operations have been flexibly shaped based on market demands, guaranteeing passengers continuity of service and complying with regulations. The return of operations from Madrid and Milan again consolidates connections from Europe to Hong Kong and beyond, taking our passengers to the other destinations covered by our Asia Pacific network, including Japan, the Philippines, Thailand and Australia,» Wong added.

Cathay Pacific’s Europe schedule for October and November

  • Madrid (MAD) one weekly frequency.
  • Frankfurt (FRA) three flights per week.
  • Paris (CDG) three flights per week.
  • Amsterdam (AMS) one weekly frequency.
  • Milan – Malpensa (MXP) one weekly frequency.
  • London Heathrow (LHR) 10 flights per week.
  • Manchester (MAN) three flights per week.
