This Friday (19), Norse Atlantic Airways launched its non-stop services between Berlin (BER) and Los Angeles (LAX) with three weekly flights. This will be the only one with connection from the German capital to the west coast of the United States, increasing the transatlantic offer of Brandenburg Airport (BER).
«Finally, the capital region and the U.S. West Coast are directly connected again. I am optimistic that the new offer will be well received. Business, cultural and personal relationships will be revived and many new ones will be generated. People in the Los Angeles metropolitan area will also quickly appreciate the advantages of a direct connection to the German capital and Brandenburg,» said Thomas Hoff Anderson, Chief Operating Officer, Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH.
Flight NO 611 was operated on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner registered with the registration number LN-FNA, the aircraft took off from Brandenburg Airport (BER) at 14:30 local time and landed at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 16:17.
«Norse Atlantic Airways’ start of direct low-cost flights between Germany and the United States will boost both local tourism and the economy by supporting job creation in the tourism and service industries» said Thom-Arne Norheim, chief operating officer of Norse Atlantic Airways.
In addition to its operations to Los Angeles (LAX), the Norwegian airline offers non-stop service to New York (JFK) and starting in December will offer a new first-time route to Fort Lauderdale (FLL), currently Norse Atlantic is the largest long-haul airline with the most seat capacity and frequencies in Berlin (BER).
«Two new flight connections from Berlin will strengthen existing destinations and connect the metropolitan region with another destination. Today’s inaugural flight to the western U.S. creates a direct connection from Berlin to Los Angeles. It is not only the economy and inbound tourism that benefit, but above all the inhabitants of the capital region» said Robert Rückel, Vice President of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK).
