On August 3, Saudia inaugurated its flights between Riyadh (RUH) and Zurich (ZRH) with weekly flights: this is the company’s second destination in Switzerland, complementing its operations from Geneva (GVA).
Flight SV 235 was operated in an Airbus A320 registered with the registration number HZ-ASE, the aircraft took off from King Khalid International Airport (RUH) at 08:57 local time and landed at Kloten Airport (ZRH) at 13:33.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Switzerland to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Andreas Schaller, SAUDIA’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Arved Nikolaus Von Zur Muhlen, the Vice President of Strategy and Communication of the Air Connectivity Program, Mr. Sultan Alotaify, and the Vice President of Route Development, Ms. Anita Gackowska, along with several government officials working at the airport.

Information obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium indicates that Saudia will have a supply of 6,600 seats per week on 32 air operations between Saudi Arabia and Switzerland, representing an increase of more than 30% over pre-pandemic levels.
Flight Itinerary
- Riyadh – Zurich Flight SV 235 RUH 08:46 – ZRH 14:05 Wednesday and Sunday.
- Zurich – Riyadh Flight SV 234 ZRH 15:20 – RUH 21:55 Wednesday and Sunday.
The flights were operated on Airbus A320-200 aircraft seating 110 passengers in two classes (20 Business Class/90 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 679 each way.
Saudia currently offers daily flights from Geneva (GVA) to Riyadh (RUH) on 330-seat Airbus A330-300 Regional and Jeddah (JED) on Airbus A320. Data compiled by Aviacionline through Cointrin Airport (GVA) statistics indicate that 72,910 passengers moved between Saudi Arabia and Geneva in 2019.
