Wizz Air continues to grow in the Middle East landing for the first time in Saudi Arabia through three destinations: Dammam (DMM), Jeddah (JED) and Riyadh (RUH), offering 20 routes from 11 European cities. Tickets are now available for sale on the airline’s website and promotional fares are available from USD 55 each way.
These new low-cost airline services are part of Saudi Arabia’s Air Connectivity Program to increase tourist arrivals in the Kingdom by the end of this decade. The announcement of these services is part of the company’s recently signed memorandum of understanding with the Saudi government that allows it to contribute to the growth of tourism in the Kingdom and its entire ecosystem.

Dammam (DMM)
For the 2023 summer season the airline will offer three new ones from King Fahd International Airport (DMM):
- Tirana (TIA) two flights per week starting April 17.
- Larnaca (LCA) one weekly frequency starting July 4.
- Budapest (BUD) two flights per week starting April 20.
Riyadh (RUH)
By December this year Wizz Air will start operations at King Khalid International Airport (RUH) with 10 new routes, it will be the company’s largest capacity destination in Saudi Arabia:
- Bucharest (OTP) from January 9, 2023.
- Budapest (BUD) from December 9, 2022.
- Catania (CAT) as of April 18, 2023.
- Venice (VCE) as of April 20, 2023.
- Milan – Malpensa (MXP) as of April 20, 2023.
- Rome – Fiumicino (FCO) as of December 6, 2022.
- Sofia (SOF) as of April 20, 2023.
- Vienna (VIE) as of December 13, 2022.
- Larnaca (LCA) as of April 17, 2023.
- Naples (NAP) as of April 18, 2023.
Jeddah (JED)
In the 2022/2023 northern winter season, the low-cost carrier will have non-stop services from King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) with seven new routes:
- Milan – Malpensa (MXP) from December 3, 2022.
- Vienna (VIE) from December 13, 2022.
- Bucharest (OTP) as of January 10, 2023.
- Budapest (BUD) as of January 10, 2023.
- Rome (FCO) as of January 11, 2023.
- Larnaca (LCA) as of July 8, 2023.
- Venice (VCE) as of April 18, 2023.
New tourism law to enable business, innovation, and investment.
A New Tourism Law was recently announced in Saudi Arabia with which the Kingdom hopes to accelerate international tourism growth to a more competitive level that will drive business, innovation, and investment.
«In our ongoing work to develop, promote and enable an internationally competitive tourism sector as a key pillar of Vision 2030, we are pleased to announce the approval of the New Tourism Law in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will boost business and investment, support innovation and attract tourists, in line with international best practices» said Ahmed Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The New Tourism Law was developed with reference to international best practices identified by the top twenty countries in the World Economic Forum’s Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index.
